Phoenix Rising formerly known throughout the Hard Dance scene as RushGBH is a respected DJ producer and promoter whose career spans more than three decades. His journey behind the decks began with an obsession for dance music and an unwavering determination to master the art of DJing.
Starting out on a basic turntable with only three speeds 33 45 and 78 RPM he learned to craft seamless mixes using classic Old Skool beats and breakbeats long before pitch control became available. His passion and determination laid the foundations for a career that would establish him as one of the most recognisable names in Hard Dance.
Everything changed in 1997 when he acquired his first pair of legendary Technics SL-1210s. With pitch control finally at his fingertips his skills developed rapidly and later that year he shared the stage with Dreamscape legend DJ Dougal. Witnessing the energy and connection a DJ could create with a crowd inspired him to develop his own energetic high-impact performance style.
Never content with simply performing at other people's events Phoenix Rising launched his own promotion Bangin' in 1999. The event quickly established itself within the underground scene providing the platform to expand his industry connections while developing his production skills and building the foundations of what would become the GBH brand.
Now performing under the name Phoenix Rising he continues to evolve while remaining true to the passion energy and dedication that have defined his career from the very beginning.
Phoenix Rising's dedication to music naturally evolved from DJing into music production leading to the release of his first original material in 2003 under the name Mr. Rush. His productions quickly gained recognition within the Hard Dance community for their powerful energy memorable melodies and uncompromising sound.
His career continued to gather momentum when he hosted a Hard Dance show on Renegade FM becoming well known for championing both established and emerging artists while helping to promote the next generation of underground talent.
