Edition 8 of Twisted Magazine takes another deep dive into the people, history, creativity and culture that continue to shape the UK underground music scene.

This month we sit down with veteran DJ and producer DJ Tech, explore the history and legacy of EXODUS, welcome Ranski MC to the Twisted team, introduce producer Asynchy, look ahead at new music arriving through Twisted Recordz, continue our Bedroom2Stage series and bring together another packed edition celebrating underground music and the people behind it.

DJ Tech – A Lifetime Dedicated to the Underground

Our main interview for August is with DJ Tech, a veteran of the underground scene whose relationship with electronic music stretches back across several decades.

From discovering electronic music at an early age and experiencing the explosion of rave culture first-hand, to DJing, producing and watching technology completely transform the way music is created and performed, DJ Tech takes us through a lifetime immersed in the scene.

The interview looks back at the clubs, raves, sounds and experiences that helped shape him, alongside his journey from DJing into music production and the new chapter he is now building.

DJ Tech also reflects on how the scene has changed, what has been gained through modern technology and what must never be forgotten about the foundations created by the generations that came before.

At its heart, this is a conversation about a genuine lifelong passion for underground music.

EXODUS – A Deep Dive Into Rave History

Edition 8 also takes a deeper look into EXODUS and its place within British underground and free-party culture.

We explore the movement, the community surrounding it and an era when rave culture represented far more than simply music and a night out.

It is another opportunity for Twisted Magazine to document and preserve an important part of underground history while introducing those stories to a generation who may not have experienced them first-hand.

Welcome Ranski MC

This month also marks a new chapter for Twisted Magazine as we officially welcome Ranski MC to the team.

Bringing decades of experience, knowledge, contacts and his own perspective on underground music culture, Ranski will be helping Twisted continue to secure interviews, uncover stories and represent the people who have helped build the scene.

Introducing Asynchy

Edition 8 introduces Asynchy, one of the producers becoming part of the expanding Twisted family.

We take a closer look at the person behind the music, the creative process, influences and what listeners can expect as new material begins to emerge.

Supporting producers and giving artists space to tell their story remains one of the central reasons Twisted exists.

Twisted Recordz – New Music Incoming

There is plenty happening behind the scenes at Twisted Recordz, and this issue looks at the growing catalogue of releases coming from the label.

With established names sitting alongside emerging artists, Twisted Recordz continues to build a home for music across Drum & Bass, Jungle and the wider spectrum of underground electronic music.

Edition 8 brings you the latest releases, forthcoming music and some of the artists helping shape the next stage of the label.

Our Bedroom2Stage features continue with practical advice, discussion and insight aimed at DJs, MCs, producers and artists trying to take the next step.

Because talent is only one part of building a career in music.
