THE DJ

Deanne Hoyland, also known as D-Zire, is more than an established artist within the UK Drum & Bass scene.

Her journey began in Southampton in 2008, starting out as a vocalist for RSR Recordings. She featured on numerous Happy Hardcore anthems that were pressed and sold on vinyl, and also appeared on the album Hardcore Till I Die, reaching audiences worldwide.

D-Zire later moved on to work as a vocalist for Diggy Stylus, performing a live PA at Big Chill Festival in 2010 on the BBC Introducing Stage.

In 2016, she taught herself how to mix and quickly began making her mark as a DJ. She went on to play on almost every major Drum & Bass radio show in the UK, securing residencies on stations including Kool FM, The Goat Shed and The Junglist Network, to name just a few.

D-Zire has regularly guested up and down the country on fellow DJ shows including Rough Tempo, Bloc2Bloc, Life FM, Origin and more. Throughout her journey, she has worked alongside legendary names such as Ragga Twins, MC Blacka, MC Fearless, Demolition Man, Rudeboy Keith and a multitude of well-known DJs.

THE MUSIC

D-Zire received a nomination for Vocalist of the Year at the 2017 We Love Jungle Awards for her track Moving On with Brian Brainstorm, released on Liondub International. This recognition encouraged her to begin producing her own music, leading to a huge back catalogue of releases.

Her music has been released on labels including DJ Hybrid’s Deep In The Jungle, Liondub International, Souldeep, Dutty Bass and Original Key. She also went on to form her own label, False Widow Records.

D-Zire has even had one of her tracks remixed by Bou. Her music has been aired on BBC Northampton, and she has also featured on BBC Introducing with a production guest mix.

With her hard, fast and energetic DJ style, D-Zire is not shy behind the decks. Her unique sound, sharp selection and surprise switching keep ravers locked to the dancefloor and always wanting more.

D-Zire has played all over the country including London, Bristol, Cambridge, Peterborough, Derby and Bedford. She has also performed in prestigious venues including Scala London and Egg London.

D-Zire is a powerful force within the scene, bringing passion, energy, experience and talent to everything she does.

The Inspiration

D-Zire’s early influences in Drum & Bass came from some of the scene’s most respected names, including DJ Hazard, DJ Hybrid, Euphonique and Bladerunner. Her love for Jump Up Drum & Bass played a huge part in shaping her sound, but over time her taste evolved into a deeper passion for Ragga and Jungle. This progression became the foundation of her own production style, helping her carve out a sound that is energetic, raw and rooted in the culture she loves. Driven by years of experience as both a vocalist and DJ, D-Zire continues to represent the true underground spirit of Drum & Bass. Her journey is built on passion, resilience and a deep love for the music, making her a respected and powerful presence within the scene.
